This is how you do it

Let us join you

Let us join you on your journey to revolutionize your neighbourhood, community, region, country and even the world, one small change at a time.

The revolution starts with each one of us. Right now, it’s your turn.

Let’s make your voice heard together and inspire others to join you on your small change journey towards a brighter future.

Read Our Guidance below

Take your time to plan your video
These steps have been listed to help you get the most out of your contribution to the Small Change Revolution.

Of course, although we give you examples, you will need to adapt them to best communicate what you want to say, show or tell. These are guidelines, not rules. Ultimately, we want to see lots of different ideas, styles and content.

Remember, we believe that you are the expert.
If you think you can make a better contribution to the revolution by doing it some other way, we are happy to see it.

All we care about is that you are happy. If you are happy, we are happy.

Eleven steps to a great contribution

Remember, these are guidelines, not rules.

01

Introduction

Introduce yourself with your name, role, and location.

“Hi, I’m Joan Smith, overseeing the Needle Exchange in Trumpton.”

02

Short Summary

Share a concise version of your idea, key advice, or your idea for positive change.

“I advocate for greater compassion towards those with addiction in Trumpton and beyond.”

03

Expand upon your summary.

Elaborate on your idea’s impact and implementation, show your project in a bit more detail.  This section can work best if you pose a question and then answer it.

“How can we humanise those who suffer from addiction?  Let’s foster kindness towards addiction, prioritizing accessible support services and community engagement.”

04

Call to Action

Conclude with an actionable step for viewers.

“Join me in advocating for compassionate solutions to addiction.”

05

Time

Keep the video under either 1 or 3 minutes for optimal engagement.

06

Orientation

Video length determines the best orientation:
Less than 1-minute (portrait)
Less than 3 minutes (landscape)

07

Bio and Links

Provide a brief bio and any relevant link you want us to include on any posts we share on social media.

Links have to take people to a place which is relevant to your video.

You might use it to showcase your work, make an appeal for fundraising or do a ‘how to’ encouraging others to copy you.  It is up to you – but make the link relevant.

08

Branding is fine.

We have no issue if you need to include organisational branding on the video.

09

Seize the day

Contributors will only upload 3 video’s per year – so make it your best work!

All of us are a bit rubbish sometimes. Be ready to record it a few times to get it right.

10

Keep it fresh!

We prefer original material because videos that have been shared before elsewhere generally do not perform well on social media.

If you want your message to be heard, create a new video.

If you can’t – that’s OK!

It look’s like you’re all set to start now!
